What Are The Advantages Of Impact Crusher Compared With Hammer Crusher?

Impact crusher and hammer crusher are both medium crushing equipment, usually used in the crushing of limestone, weathered rock and other medium and low hardness stones. So, what is the difference between these two types of medium crushing equipment?

1. The finished product particle shape

In terms of the finished product particle shape, the impact crusher has good particle shape, no hidden cracks, strong aggregate compressive resistance, and can be used for high-grade concrete. However, the hammer crusher has poor particle shape, hidden cracks, and weak aggregate compressive resistance, and is generally used in low-grade concrete.

2. The structure

From the perspective of internal structure, the impact crusher uses an integral rigid plate hammer, which has a large striking range, high crushing efficiency, and greater output. However, the hammer crusher uses a small elastic hammer head, which has a small striking range, low crushing efficiency, and low output.

3. The powder output

In terms of stone powder content, impact crusher produces mostly cubic stones, with fewer needle-shaped stones, and the powder output rate is controllable. However, the powder output rate of hammer crusher is uncontrollable.

4. Wearing parts

In terms of the life of wearing parts, the wear of the impact hammer only occurs on the side facing the material. When the rotor speed is normal, the feed will fall onto the surface of the hammer (the striking surface), and the back and sides of the hammer will not be worn. In addition, the bottom grinding rod is also easy to replace, and the utilization rate of the hammer is as high as about 45%-48%. The hammer head of the hammer crusher is in a suspended state, and the wear occurs on the top, front, back and sides, so the hammer head of hammer crusher wears more seriously.

5. Investment

In terms of investment scale, the initial investment of impact crusher production line is higher than that of hammer crusher, but the later operating cost is lower.

The above are the differences between impact crusher and hammer crusher. In summary, impact crusher has more advantages than hammer crusher in stone crushing, but the initial investment is higher than hammer crusher. If it is a medium-sized or large-scale production line that runs for a long time and has high requirements for the quality of finished stone, it is recommended to use impact crusher as the secondary crushing equipment to reduce the later downtime and ensure normal production profitability.
