Working Principle of Impact Crusher

As an efficient and widely used crushing equipment, the working principle of impact crusher involves complex physical processes and precise mechanical structure design. This article will analyze the working principle of impact crusher for you.

Feeding stage

The operation of the impact crusher begins with the material feeding process. The material is fed into the crushing chamber of the crusher through the feed port. The design of this feed port usually takes into account the size, shape and flow of the material to ensure that the material can enter the crushing area smoothly and avoid blockage. The position and size of the feed port also directly affect the processing capacity and efficiency of the crusher.

Rotor rotation

The rotor is the core component of the impact crusher, which is driven by an electric motor through a belt drive to achieve high-speed rotation. The rotor is equipped with multiple impact plates, commonly known as hammers. These hammers are fixed around the rotor and generate centrifugal force as the rotor rotates, providing power for the subsequent crushing process. The number and arrangement of hammers are determined according to the design specifications and working requirements of the crusher, aiming to optimize the crushing effect and efficiency.

Material crushing

When the material enters the crushing chamber, it immediately collides with the high-speed rotating hammer. Due to the high-speed rotation and strong impact force of the hammer, the material is quickly crushed and pulverized. In this process, the material is directly impacted by the hammer, and its internal structure is destroyed, gradually loosening and breaking into smaller particles. Most of the crushing occurs in the area where the material directly collides with the hammer, but the collision between materials also plays a certain role in crushing.

Counterattack

The unique feature of the impact crusher is its impact device. When the material is hit by the hammer, part of the material will change its direction of movement and be thrown onto the impact plate. The impact plate is usually made of high-strength material, which can withstand the impact of the material and produce a strong rebound effect. After hitting the impact plate, the material is strongly impacted and crushed again. This process is often repeated many times until the material is crushed to the required particle size. The existence of the impact plate not only increases the crushing effect, but also ensures that the material is fully crushed and improves the crushing efficiency.

Finished product discharge

After multiple collisions and crushing, the size of the material gradually decreases to the required particle size range. At this time, the crushed material is discharged through the discharge port at the bottom of the crushing chamber. The size of the discharge port can be adjusted according to actual needs to control the size of the discharged particles. At the same time, some impact crushers are also equipped with screening devices, which can further separate materials of different particle sizes to meet the diverse needs of users.

In summary, the impact crusher achieves efficient crushing and pulverizing of hard materials through its unique working principle and precise mechanical structure design. In the future development, the impact crusher will continue to play its important role and provide strong support for crushing operations in various industries.
